A deep green tea whose leaves the eyes drown in even before brewing. The taste comes with perfect balance between sweetness and umami. The fullness ends with a long and pungent aftertaste. The aroma draws towards hay and sea. This award-winning tea is grown at an altitude of 600 meters in Yame on the southern tip of Japan.
Sencha Chiyo - green tea
ORIGIN
For three generations, the Harashima family has grown high-quality teas in the mountains east of Yame. Harashima Masashi, together with his wife Eri and their daughter, also runs a cafe up in the mountains.
Despite the southern latitudes, the tea plantations are covered in snow in winter. The bushes therefore bud later than usual due to the cooler climate. It also means that plague attacks are not as common, which means that the cultivation takes place without chemicals. The tea is certified according to JAS.GUIDANCE
